Women and Economy

The Study Group on Women held five meetings in the Jan-March quarter. On March 22, it also arranged a session with the renowned Indian scholar Maulana Jalal-ud-Din Umri on “Women and Economy”.
Author of 32 books, some on women, Maulana Umri held that Islam gives women more rights than the “demands of modern times”. While Islam prescribes a comprehensive scheme of life in which all components fit with each other well, modern day initiatives have created new problems.
A large number of people, both men and women, of different persuasions attended the program.
