Orya Maqbool Jan is presently working as Director General, Sustainable Development of the Walled City Project in Lahore after having served in various important positions including Executive Director ECO, Cultural Institute Tehran and Information Secretary to the Punjab Government. He is a renowned intellectual and has been regularly contributing in the field of literature, poetry and play writing along with his professional assignments in Teaching, Management, Policy Making, and Administrative areas during his distinguished career. He also regularly contributes to the National Media and has received numerous national awards, including the best Urdu columnist in 2004.
