Dr. M. Umer Chapra is a Research Advisor at the Islamic Research & Training Institute (IRTI) of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB). He holds an important position in the arena of Islamic Economics and Finance for his outstanding contribution. On March 2, 2010 he came to IPS and held a session with the research staff of the institute. This session was primarily aimed at having an understanding of the global financial crises and taking benefit from the long academic and research experience of Dr. Chapra. He has presented a complex economic issue in a very lucid manner and answered the questions of the participants in Urdu. For general benefit, we are presenting here this significant academic contribution.
