Key Policy Imperatives: Agenda before the Nation

The first half of 2013 – after completion of the PPP-led government’s tenure and subsequent general elections on May 11 – has witnessed the first ever transition in Pakistan’s history  from one democratically elected government to another and thus a reshaping of the political dispensation in the country, at federal and provincial levels.
It is about time when a comprehensive academic discourse can be initiated as to what should be the course of action for the new leadership in particular and the nation as a while in general, on various major issues confronting the country, coming up with solid, viable policy proposals.
IPS started, since the beginning of this year, presenting a series of brief but comprehensive articles on key issues presenting a set of priories, actionable points and viable solutions for the new managers of the country in various fields. The articles include:

  • Constitutional, Political and Governance Issue, by Prof. Khurshid Ahmad, chairman IPS and former senator
  • National Security, by Brig. (r) Said Nazir Mohmand, senior IPS associate
  • Foreign Policy, by Shamshad Ahmad Khan, former secretary foreign affairs
  • Kashmir, by IPS Team
  • Economy and Well-being, by Fasih Uddin, former chief economist, Government of Pakistan
  • Energy, by Mirza Hamid Hassan, former secretary, water and power
  • Educational Policy, by Dr. Anis Ahmad, VC, Riphah Int’l University
  • Women and Society, by IPS Team

“Key Policy Imperatives: Agenda before the Nation” is being uploaded in e-book format.
