The IPS family is deeply grieved over the sad demise of its senior associate and member of its National Academic Council, Tanveer Ahmed Khan – who has served as former foreign secretary of Pakistan and ambassador to several countries. He was an eminent member of IPS-National Academic Council since 21 May 2011 till the time of his death.
He had a long and very successful diplomatic career. In 1989-90, he served as the foreign secretary of the Government of Pakistan. He had also served as the national ambassador to numerous countries including France, Russian Federation, Bangladesh, Czechoslovakia and Iran and a non-resident ambassador to Ireland and Finland. He was also a regular contributor to the national and international media and has over 500 newspaper and journal articles to his credit.
He passed away on 16 November 2013 at the age of 81. His services for Pakistan and contributions to IPS will always be remembered.
