On the invitation of United Nations Office for Sustainable Development Goals (UNOSD), DG-IPS Khalid Rahman participated in a three-day workshop on ‘National Development Strategies and Plans in the Middle East and Central Asia Region: Implementing The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)’ from October 27-29, 2015, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
DG-IPS delivered a presentation on the occasion titled ‘Sustainable Development Goals: Promoting Civic Responsibility and Indigenous Framework’.
The workshop, which was organized by UNOSD in collaboration with Islamic Development Bank Group, the Ministry of Finance-United Arab Emirates, the Sustainable Development Planning Network and the International Institute for Sustainable Development, aimed to assist countries in applying integrated systems-level approaches for envisioning, planning, implementing and monitoring national development plans and strategies for achieving The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Sustainable Development Goals.
In addition to his participation in workshop, DG also visited Islamic Cultural Centre during his trip where he delivered a lecture based on his book ‘Successful Life: Carve Your Own Way’, while in another session held at Islamia English School, Adbu Dhabi, he spoke to the school’s teaching faculty on the topic of ‘Communication and Team Work’.
