IPS in Int’l conference ‘Silk Road and Transport Diplomacy’

Irfan Shahzad, Lead Coordinator IPS participated in an international conference titled “Silk Road and Transport Diplomacy” organized by Tabataba’i University (Tehran) in Chabahar, Sistan and Balochestan province, Iran on January 25-26, 2017.

He made a presentation on ‘CPEC: A Catalyst for Transport Diplomacy in the Silk Road Region’ and also facilitated a session on ‘Geo-Economics in the Region’.

The visit was an on-the-field opportunity to understand the current status and developmental plan for the Chabahar port, and related infrastructure, as well as to have a glimpse of the society in this Baloch-dominated part of Iran bordering Pakistan.
