Energy Dependence: CPEC and Pakistan’s Energy Portfolio

Gaining energy independence lies at the root of contemporary national energy policies across the globe. Though the projects under CPEC are addressing serious bottlenecks in Pakistan’s energy sector, yet the share of indigenous sources is insignificant in post CPEC energy mix. Import dependence for power generation will thus remain. A proper framework for development and exploitation of indigenous resources is the need of hour.
