Interactive session on Policy Research

A session highlighting the significance of evidence-based, empirical, policy-oriented research was held at IPS as part of the Institute’s team development program on July 5, 2019.

The session was facilitated by Dr Syed Naeem Ahmed, a senior education policy expert who is serving as the head of Quality Assurance and Accreditation Department at the Colleges and Institute’s Division, Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Kingdom of Saudia Arabia. Earlier, he has worked as manager research initiatives at Pre-STEP – a USAID funded project run by the Education Development Center, Washington.

Emphasizing on the rising need of undertaking meaningful policy research that shares insightful knowledge and relays conclusive measures, the speaker stressed on undertaking and studying areas where the demand/scope was high. He also shared tips on aligning one’s research with the needs and interests of relevant stakeholders and industry which the activity could prove to be beneficial for.
