Executive President IPS Khalid Rahman delivered a lecture on the topic of “Islamic Concept of Combating Poverty” at the Akhtar Hameed Khan National Centre of Rural Development (AHKNCRD) on September 18, 2019.
The lecture was delivered as part of the AHKNCRD’s 5-day training course on “Poverty Reduction Strategies: Sustainability Issues and Way Forward”, and was attended by senior and mid-level officers from all over Pakistan who were entrusted to implement the concepts and policies on poverty in the country. It worth’s a mention here that the training was being imparted inter alia to the functionaries of Nation Building Department (NBD’s), including women functionaries, officials of the local government and rural development departments, elected representatives and NGOs, with a view to improve their professional skills as well as to promote sharing of experiences regarding rural development in Pakistan.
