Veteran scholar, former senator and founding chairman of IPS Professor Khurshid Ahmed conveyed his deep grief and sorrow over the demise of former senator Murad Ali Shah in a heart-felt message extended to the deceased family on May 2, 2020 .
Throwing light on his longstanding association with the late JI leader, Professor Khurshid said that he and Shah served together in the senate of Pakistan for three years. He said the deceased was a thorough gentleman and a proven statesman whose understanding of geo-politics was remarkable and was a source of knowledge for others.
Speaking highly of his time spent with the late senator as a colleague, Ahmad especially lauded his contributions on the issues pertaining to Afghanistan. He prayed to the Almighty to rest the deceased soul in eternal peace, while granting his family members enough patience and strength to bear this personal tragedy and an irreparable loss.
