The report is based on the roundtable titled ‘Transitioning Afghanistan: A Year After Taliban and Way Forward’, which was organized by IPS on August 26, 2022 to assess the on ground situation of Afghanistan and examine Pakistan’s conduct. The in-camera discussion, under the Chatham House Rule, with a select gathering of Islamabad’s intelligentsia produced insights about challenges faced by the Taliban government, the loopholes in the US policy, the opportunities and liabilities for regional and international players in the situation, the structural gaps in Pakistan’s policy, and the way forward, as covered in this report.
