The identity crisis among young Muslims globally has become pronounced recently due to multiple factors, especially Islamophobia and globalization. This is leading to confusion in navigating through the challenges of the evolution of identity. The Muslim identity is based on the tawhidi paradigm that has the potential to offer solutions to complex philosophical and practical issues. Muslim societies are looking for alternative frameworks of life in the currently prevailing model, and there is a need to resort to ijtihad to offer pragmatic responses to contemporary challenges, such as the question of identity among the youth. This issue brief strives to develop a realistic assessment of the identity crisis and search for pragmatic solutions toward an integrated knowledge-driven future.
